It’s been ten years since the residents of Chateau Élan first decided to open their homes to raise money for the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. Since that time, the community has welcomed thousands of visitors and raised over $1,000,000 for this very worthy charity.

This year will mark the second running of our Vineyard Run for Hope, the exciting 10.2K/5K/1K race which replaced the traditional holiday home tour as the community’s annual fundraiser for the Shelter. On November 19, 2011, the Vineyard Run for Hope will host a 10.2K, 5K and 1K Tot Trot starting and ending at the beautiful Chateau Élan Winery. The 10.2K and 5K participants will travel a picturesque course through the resort and into the gates of the Chateau Élan neighborhood.  Along the way, participants will enjoy fabulous views of the vineyards, stables, golf courses and estate homes. Chateau Élan is home to many athletes and fitness enthusiasts eager to welcome runners from all over the region to our community.

Entry fees are discounted for pre-registrations, and all proceeds benefit the Gwinnett Children’s Shelter. The Shelter, which annually serves more than 200 young people residentially, grew out of a volunteer effort involving PTA, business and community leaders who recognized a need for services for abused and abandoned children. The Shelter depends on community donations to provide these services, and the annual Chateau Élan event has been one of their largest fundraisers for several years. The Vineyard Run for Hope Planning Committee is reaching out to the community for Race Sponsors, Advertisers, Participants and Volunteers.  In addition to the race event, a magazine featuring sponsors and advertisers will be published and distributed to all participants and residents of Chateau Élan.
